
School Reform
-Educational grants
are limited to charter and private schools that fall within the geographical
areas of the following California Unified School Districts only:
Los Angeles, Berkeley, Oakland and West Contra Costa.
-Educational grants are now made exclusively to schools.
-The school must be fully enrolled and at least 50% of enrolled students
must qualify for free or reduced lunches or be otherwise identified
as low-income.
-Program must take place during regular school hours.
-Priority is given to requests focusing on the schools' basic education
program.
-Priority is given to schools and programs that have existing successful
systems and could be replicated or expanded.
-A site visit is required before an award can be granted.
Biracial
Children
-Awarded nationwide.
-Projects must directly focus on including and celebrating biracial
children.
-Priority is given to projects that celebrate the positive aspects of
being biracial and multiracial in a balanced and honest way.The tragic
mulatto tale has been told many times over. We want to hear new stories. |
